frequently asked questions

to learn ju jitsu, do I need to be fit?
definitely not. it is a great advantage (but not essential) if all or most of your joints work fairly well. every session of ju jitsu will begin with warm-up exercises designed to loosen joints and warm up muscles so as to avoid any possible damage to them during training. these exercises are done to the best of each individual student's ability and are absolutely not intended as 'get fit' or 'keep fit' exercises.

will ju jitsu get me fit?
only if you want it to. the harder you train, the fitter you will become, but this is a matter entirely for each person to decide.
